Pedagogical groups
Definition
‘All the pupils taught by a same teacher in a classroom at the same time, regardless of whether these pupils are in the same grade or not.’ (IIEP-UNESCO Pôle de Dakar. 2016: 10). Certain pedagogical groups are taught by a single teacher (particularly in primary education), while others are taught by various teachers each responsible for one subject (particularly in secondary education). Pedagogical groups are essential to consider when estimating teacher allocation needs.
