Gender-sensitive
Definition
‘Indicates gender awareness and means that a policy or program recognizes the important effects of gender norms, roles, and relations. It is often contrasted with being gender-blind, which ignores differences in opportunities and resource allocation for women and men and gender norms, roles, and relations and often reinforces gender-based discrimination.’ (GPE and UNGEI, 2017: 4).
