Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA)

Definition
‘Oral assessment tool designed to measure basic skills for literacy in children in early grades. It focuses on the individual child and is a one-to-one assessment. The tool measures recognition of letters, reading simple words, understanding sentences and paragraphs, and comprehension’ (IIEP-UNESCO Learning Portal, 2018).
