Relationship with the community

Definition
Connections between the school and community members, which aim to encourage and enhance the participation of community members in the operation of schools at a formal or informal level. The formal and legal level is expressed by the representation and participation of the community members in school through official organizations such as School Management Committee SMC, Village Education Committee VEC, School Development Committee SDC and/or Parent and Teachers Associations PTA. The informal level takes the form of voluntary participation, where community members get involved through special activities or events (Sujatha, 2011).
